Hi, my name is Casper Caban, I'm four years old. I suffer from hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy and I breathe with the aid of a respirator, I can't blink, I can't fully close my eyes, which makes them really hurt and they are red all the time.My mum feeds with by tube because I can't swallow. I can't move either and I would really like to if only to scratch my nose. It really hurts when mum stretches me but I'm really brave because I know it's for my own good. Mum and dad love me very much and I love them too, although I can't tell them, but they know anyway. I'm so happy to be in my home with my parents. For the first 2 years of my life my home was the intensive therapy ward of the hospital. I don't want to remember it because I was very scared then. My parents could only be with me during the day, at night I had to be alone. I cried every day when they were leaving, and they were very sad too, but they had to leave me. Mummy and daddy tried very hard to get a respirator for me and in the end they succeeded. They took me home and now noone will separate us - ever. Unfortunately, my parents don't have enough money to cover all my needs, and I have so many. I have to have medicines, single-use items, equipment to enable me to function as normally as possible etc. I would really like to be rehabilitated because I do exercises all day long with my mum (eveyone is afraid of my respirator) but my mum doesn't really know much about it. I would really like to learn something so that one day life is easier for me. Please, if you can, help me & my parents.
